Amale is a 30-year-old Lebanese single woman living with her parents and five siblings - three of them are working. Her father is the one supporting the family and bringing added income to it. She has owned a women's accessories and gift shop since 2007 in her town, where all ladies can benefit from her products. Today, she has the intention to borrow $3000 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to buy additional items for her shop before the holidays, such as bracelets, necklaces, and many others. She notes that this will bring her much profit. In the future, she plans to open a clothes area in her shop.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
