This community bank is called "vista Nueva" and it is comprised of 19 entrepreneurs who work in different types of business. They all live in the city of Puerto Montt.
Alejandro is at the back of the group in the photo in the first place if you look from right to left and is wearing a red and black jacket. He offers services in publishing, photography, recording, and lighting. He has his own production company called "AMR Productions". He has been doing this for 10 years.
He says that he recently had three professional cameras stolen from him, and this loss has made it very difficult for him to deliver his services efficiently.
He works for himself and subcontracts so that his business operates in the best way. He also has a job as a company executive.
He will use the loan and additional money to buy a professional camera that will enable him to work outside the area.
His work timetable is flexible but he has to be available to work Monday through Sunday.
One of his goals is to set-up a new production company.
Alejandro lives with his wife and 8 year old son. His goal is to establish his production company, and this would allow him to get back to how things were before the robbery.

Puerto Montt is a city in the south of Chile, located in the Los Lagos region. Some of the attractions of Puerto Montt are its beautiful green countryside, its quiet beaches, its food, and especially the reputation of its fish, seafood, and crafts. It is also the port for reaching Isla Grande de Chiloé, which is rich in tradition and legends.

Este Banco comunal se llama “Vista Nueva” está conformado por 19 emprendedores, quienes se dedican a diferentes rubros relacionados con el comercio. Todos ellos pertenecientes a la ciudad de Puerto Montt.
Alejandro quien en la foto se encuentra ubicado al final del grupo, ocupando el primer lugar de derecha a izquierda y además viste una chaqueta color rojo con negro. Se dedica a prestar servicios de edición, fotografía, grabaciones e iluminación. Alejandro es dueño de una productora, la cual tiene el nombre de “AMR Producciones”. Se dedica a éste rubro desde hace 10 años.
Comenta que hace poco tiempo le sustrajeron tres cámaras fotográficas profesionales, pérdida que ha sido muy compleja para la entrega de sus servicios de manera eficiente.
El trabaja de manera independiente y subcontrata personal para desempeñar su negocio de mejor manera. Además tiene un trabajo dependiente como ejecutivo de empresa.
El crédito y dinero adicional lo utilizará para comprar una cámara fotográfica profesional, ya que le servirá para trabajar fuera de la zona.
Su horario laboral es flexible, sin embargo debe tener la disponibilidad para trabajar de lunes a domingo.
Una de sus metas es formar nuevamente la productora, con toda su implementación.
Alejandro vive junto a su esposa e hijo de 8 años de edad. Sus sueños son establecerse con su productora, esto le permitirá retomar el ritmo de vida laboral antes del robo.
Alejandro se encuentra agradecido de la oportunidad que le brindó Fondo Esperanza para invertir en su negocio, esto le permitirá concretar sus proyectos también. Respecto al grupo del Banco comunal del cual forma parte, comenta que se siente muy cómodo, ya que son muy organizados y las reuniones son muy buenas.
Puerto Montt es una ciudad del sur de Chile, ubicada en la región de Los Lagos. Una de las atracciones de Puerto Montt son sus bellos paisajes verdes; sus playas poco frecuentadas; su gastronomía y especialmente la reputación de sus pescados y mariscos y sus artesanías. Es también la puerta de entrada a la Isla Grande de Chiloé, rica en tradiciones y leyendas.

About Fondo Esperanza

Fondo Esperanza (FE) is a private non-profit organization that supports entrepreneurship by providing micro-credit and training to people living in poverty in well over 100 cities throughout Chile. By providing these services, FE aims to improve the living conditions of the entrepreneurs and their families. In 2010, FE provided loans to more than 41,000 entrepreneurs. It utilizes a communal banking model in which groups of 18 to 25 clients meet on regularly and guarantee each other’s loans. The members use their portion of the loan to create or expand their own businesses. In the group meetings, clients receive training though the FE Entrepreneurship School, which enhances clients’ personal and business skills and ability to work in groups.

The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee.
