Tarek is a 26-year-old Lebanese man. He is single and lives with his parents and one sibling. His father provides the main source of income for the family. In order to help him, Tarek decided to open his own business in 2009. He works as an electrician on his own, and he is looking to grow his business. Today, he wants to borrow $1600 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase new electrical tools and equipment for his business. He notes that this will facilitate his business operations; therefore, he can take more projects. In the future, he plans to learn more about his trade in order to further improve his work.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
