Ata is a 55-year-old Lebanese man. He lives with his wife and six children. Five of the children are working while the other one is still attending school. Ata believes that combining forces with the rest of his family will be great to improve their way of living. He has been working as a taxi driver since 2008. He’s accurate and honest, making his customers loyal to him. Today, he’s looking to borrow $1300 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to perform necessary maintenance on his car in addition to painting and bodywork. This will help him to target a wider range of people and increase his earnings. In the future, he plans to buy a minivan to transport more people.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
