Ibrahim is a 42-year-old Lebanese married man who lives with his wife and three school-aged children. He’s working non-stop to be able to satisfy his family demands. He has 11 years of experience as a painter and has worked independently, upon request, since the year 2000. In parallel, he has been working in a local company for the past 19 years. Today, he’s asking for a loan of 1,900 USD from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase painting tools and supplies for his projects. He notes that this will help him carry on his work properly. In the future, he plans to open his own painting shop.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
