Sabah is a 47-year-old Lebanese married woman living with her husband and three children. One of them is working while two others are still studying. They are a united family, cooperating together in order to enrich their way of living. Her husband started his business as a security guard at a local hotel in 2006.
As for Sabah, she has been selling Brazilian gold and accessories from her home for the past nine years. She also visits her customers at home.
Today, she’s asking for a loan of $1,600 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase jewelry to add to her existing items in order to boost her sales and earn more income.
In the future, she plans to open her own jewelry shop.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
