Afif is a 50-year-old Lebanese man. He is married and lives with his wife, one parent, and four children. Two of the children are still studying, and the other two are working. Despite all the difficulties and pressures of life that he faces, Afif is devoting his life to his children and sacrifices greatly for their education. He has been working in security for a local company for the past five years. Today, he needs to borrow $2600 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to pay his children's educational fees. He’s sure that being knowledgeable will help them to achieve better job positions. In the future, he plans to collect much more money to enhance their life.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
