Khouloud is a 22-year-old married Lebanese woman. She lives with her husband and two children. Khouloud and her husband find it really hard to cover their expenses because of life costs even though they’re both working. Khouloud's husband has been working as a freelance constructor since 2005. As for her, she has her own home business where she sells artisan clothes and scarves.
Khouloud is requesting a 1,100 USD loan from the Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to increase her inventory of clothes and related accessories. This will allow her increase her sales after making special offers on her products. In the future, she plans to open her own shop.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
