Catherine is a resident of Likoni, Kenya. She is married and has six children. Catherine owns a clothes shop which has been in operation for the last twenty three years. She started the business from her personal savings. Besides this, she owns a hotel and supplies fish.
She is applying for a loan of 20,000 Kenya shillings (KES) to purchase more lessos - african cover clothes tied around the waist by women - and hotel furniture. She looks forward to owning a big hotel despite the challenge of seasonal weather, price fluctuations and some clients not paying on time. Catherine will use the extra income from the loan to buy office utensils.
