The group is comprised of ten members and is lead by governing board. Placida is the secretary. The members of this communal association have various businesses, among them a local grocery store, a milk production business, a farm, and buying and selling cattle.
Mrs. Placida said that this is the first time she has worked with "Pro Mujer". She was invited to join this organization by the organizer. For many years she has had a neighborhood store. She learned this business from her sister.
This loan that she is requesting will increase her working capital. She will buy sugar, noodles, etc. She buy these in El Alto and sells them in her community. This work allows her to generate income so that she can support her family. She is single and has one child.
When she was asked, she said that she likes "Pro Mujer". She likes the health education they provide and the easy access to credit.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
