Kawsar is a 37-year-old Lebanese woman. She’s married, living with her husband and six children who are still studying. She’s cooperating with her husband to be able to cover their children’s study fees and improve their lives. She has owned a toy shop since 2009. As for her husband, he has been working as a soldier at the Lebanese army. Today, she’s looking to borrow $1200 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase more toys for her shop such as video games, fireworks, puzzles and many other items. In that way, she can respond rapidly to her customers' demands and increase her sales. In the future, she plans to expand her business into other areas.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes of this entrepreneur may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
