A loan of $975 helped to buy rice, beans, corn, sugar and Purina which is the new product she wants to sell.

Blanca Rosa's story

Blanca, 34, sells basic grains. She’s married and has two children who are 10 and 5 years of age respectively. She is from Las Isletas located in Granada.

She started out because of the need to earn income because what her husband earned was insufficient to support her household. She made the decision to go out with her mother selling basic grains because that’s what she had been doing for many years in the market in Granada and this is how she too now earns her livelihood and supports her family.

She needs the loan to buy rice, beans, corn, sugar and Purina which is a new product she wants to start selling. With this investment she wants to stock her inventory with products of much need and consumption in her neighborhood and to gradually add others too. For now, she’d like to repair the area where she stores her merchandise to make it more secure.
