Mwanaiki is a married woman with three children, all of whom attend school. She owns a house that neither has electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.
For the past four years, she has operated a cosmetic shop business selling cosmetics door to door and to neighbors and passersby. She faces a major challenge of high cost of purchasing cosmetics for her business. She dreams of expanding to a wholesale shop in the future.
With the Kshs 15,000 she wants to purchase cosmetic for sale. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
