BENKADI is a group mainly consisting of married women with an average age of 39 and an average of four children. For the most part, they live in monogamist families in Bougoula, one of the popular neighborhoods of Sikasso. They are on their 14th loan with the Microfinance Institution Soro Yiriwaso to help meet the needs of their clients. Aminata, pictured first in the large boubou, sells potatoes. She has been doing this for about 14 years and has a very good reputation. With her loan, she plans to buy about ten 50kg sacks of potatoes. She buys from producers in the neighborhoods in Sikasso. She resells them, by order, at the market, and to family; she has both male and female customers. She plans to make an average monthly profit of 43,500 FCFA which will partly be used to pay for the loan and its interest and the other part for savings. She hopes to increase her business to better satisfy her customers.

BENKADI est un groupe constitué essentiellement de femmes mariées avec une moyenne d’âge de 39 ans, et en moyenne 4 enfants. Elles vivent la plupart dans des familles monogamiques à BOUGOULA - VILLE un des quartiers populaires de la ville de Sikasso.
Elles sont à leur quatorzième prêt avec l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso afin de satisfaire le besoin de leur clientèle.
AMINATA, la première en grand boubou, fait le commerce de la pomme de terre, il y'a environ 14 ans et jouis d’une grande renommée à la matière.
Elle compte acheter avec son prêt une dizaine de sacs de 50kg de pommes de terre. Elle s’approvisionne chez les producteurs dans les voisinages de Sikasso ville.
Elle les revend en détail, sur commande, au marché et en famille à une clientèle composée d’hommes et de femmes au comptant.
Elle envisage réaliser un bénéfice mensuel moyen de 43.500FCFA dont une partie est utilisée pour payer le prêt et son intérêt et l’autre pour son épargne.
Elle ambitionne d’augmenter son chiffre d’affaire pour mieux satisfaire sa clientèle.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
