Rehema, 48, is a married woman with nine children, all of whom attend school. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.
For the past three years, she has operated a cafe that serves her neighbors and passersby. Rehema dreams of establishing a restaurant in the future.
With the requested loan of KES 15,000 she wants to purchase food stocks, bundles of wheat flour, maize flour, and sugar. She decided to join Yehu to access loans in order to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
