Abbas is a 25-year-old single Lebanese man. He lives with his parents and two working siblings. They are all cooperating in order to cover the heavy costs of living. Despite all that, his father will always be supportive of them. As for Abbas, he has owned a mechanic shop since 2006, having been involved in this field for the past ten years. Today, he is looking to borrow $1200 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase additional spare parts for his shop. He notes that this may improve his business and allow him to attract more customers. In the future, he plans to open his own car show room.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
