Ahmad is a 45-year-old married Lebanese man. He lives with his wife and two children. With the support of his wife, he is able to fulfill his family’s needs and respond to their demands. He has been selling photocopiers for the past eleven years, and has a solid understanding of this type of machinery. His wife works at a local university. Today, he is asking for a loan of $3000 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase new equipment for his shop, such as scanners, ink, photocopiers, etc. He notes that this will increase his sales, and thus his profits. In the future, he plans to export his products outside the country.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
