Youssef is a 44-year-old married Lebanese man. He lives with his wife and two children. He is the main income provider in his family and has all their support. He has been selling car engines for the past thirty years. He also owns a small apartment, and benefits from its rental fees. Today, he is asking to borrow $2000 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase additional products for his shop, such as more engines, in order to improve his business and increase his profits. In the future, he plans to enlarge his shop and hire people to work with him.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
