Ali is a 28-year-old Lebanese single man living with his parent and one working sibling. His father takes care of the family and is responsible for them. Ali started his own freelance job in 2009; he sells motorcycles upon customers' requests. In parallel, he has been working at a local company for the past three years. He needs to borrow $1,600 from Kiva's partner, Ameen, to buy the quantity needed of motorcycle spare parts in order to increase his sales thus his profits. In the future, he plans to open his own motorcycle shop.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
