Jaafar is a 25-year-old Lebanese single man living with his only working sibling. He is hoping to earn money and enhance his standard of living. Even with all the difficulties that he has faced, Jaafar has been courageous and didn’t hesitate to open his own business.
Jaafar started to work as a blacksmith in 2005 and has ten years of experience in this domain. He is a reputable person and has gained a fair number of customers so far. Today, he has asked for a loan of $1300 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to renew his smithy tools and buy additional ones, with the aim of attracting more customers.
In the future, he plans to have a lovely family.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
