Nazira is a 36-year-old Lebanese woman. After getting divorced, she moved to live with her parents, two working siblings and five other relatives. Her father and siblings are trying the best they can to enhance their family’s way of living. For that reason, Nazira opened her own flower shop in 2007, to take some responsibilities off of them; she also decorates bridal cars. Today, she needs to borrow $1600 from Kiva partner Ameen S.A.L. to buy additional products for her shop such as flowers and other decoration items. This will certainly increase the number of customers asking for her services. In the future, she plans to enlarge her shop by adding a more diverse range of flowers.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
