Mohamed lives in the coastal town of Changamwe, Kenya. He owns a retail shop which has been in operation for the last five years. He is married and has three children; one is still in school.
Mohamed was introduced to Milango by his friends. He decided to join in order to access credit. He is currently applying for a loan of Ksh 40,000 to purchase more retail stock for his shop, e.g. sugar, salt, flour etc. Mohamed also owns a taxi; car hire transport.
His main challenge is the overall inflation in the country which has reduced the purchasing power of most customers. He is looking forward to owning a three wheeler vehicle commonly called a tuktuk. Mohamed will use the additional income obtained from this loan to meet his family’s daily needs.
