Michael is a 42-year-old Lebanese single man living with his parents and one relative. Like every man of his age, Michael is looking to have his own family and kids. For this reason, he decided to open his own business. In 1991, he opened a snack bar in his town where people meet and enjoy eating. He’s well known for his good food and good reputation. Today, he’s requesting a loan of $1800 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase a new refrigerator for his business. With a refrigerator, he can keep the food safe and gain his customer’s trust. In the future, he plans to open his own restaurant.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
