Henry
Henry is a resident of Kitale, Western Kenya and has been in farming for 12 consecutive years. He currently employs one farmhand. His farm produces maize and beans which he sells locally. He also runs a general retail shop in the local market to get additional income.

Henry has requested a loan of 85,000 KES from Kiva partner Juhudi Kilimo to buy a motorcycle for a transport business venture. He says the business will support his farming whose income has become unpredictable with fluctuations in the prices of farm produce. He hopes to build the business and buy a motor vehicle for the same business.

He reiterates that his major problems are the harsh weather conditions and poor prices for farm produce.

Henry is married with three children aged between 16 and 13, all of whom are in school.
