Mohamad is a 36-year-old Lebanese man. He lives with his wife and their three children who are still studying at school. He’s working really hard to be able to offer a respectable life to his children. And after being a car mechanic for ten years, he opened his own garage in 2005. So far, he has gained a fair number of customers asking for his services. Today, he needs to borrow $1,800 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase additional car spare parts for his business. He notes that this will allow him to earn superior income. In the future, he plans to open his own car showroom.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
