Washington is a member is a member of the Communal Bank “Pangua” which is located in the community of Pangua Chaupiyacu and part of Guanujo parish in the canton of Guaranda. This community is 15 minutes away from the office of Cooperativa San Jose. The members of the Pangua Communal Bank work mostly in agriculture and livestock breeding, but they also engage in other business activities, such as retail and construction, in order to earn most of their income.
Washington is a farmer who grows potatoes and raises cattle. He buys his supplies and sells his products in Guaranda.
