Hasan is a 54-year-old married Lebanese man who lives with his wife and four children. Two of his children are working and the others are still attending school. Hasan coordinates with his children to satisfy the family requests and also to pay for his two childrens' educational fees.
In 1990, he decided to start his own business, and has now been working as a taxi driver for twenty-one years. Today, he’s asking for a loan of $2900 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase a new car and replace his used one. He notes that this will allow him to attract more customers and therefore increase his profits. In the future, he plans to buy a big van and organize trips.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
