Hayat is a 44-year-old Lebanese married woman. She lives with her husband and has two working children. All of the family cooperates together especially because of the heavy costs of life. Hayat had fifteen years of experience in selling detergents until she decided to open her own business in 2006. She sells all kinds of detergents from her home. Her husband has been working as a taxi driver for the past twenty three years. Today, she’s looking to borrow $ 2300 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to increase her inventory of cleaners and sanitary products in order to earn superior income. In the future she plans to open her own shop.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
