Ventura is 39 years old, married, and has four children. He is in the business of growing and selling Irish potatoes. His weekly income is 30,000 Uganda shillings.
Irish potatoes are fast becoming a favorite food in most households in Uganda, principally due to the fact that there are inexpensive and easy to cook. Restaurants provide a good market for Irish potatoes and Ventura mostly sells to entrepreneurs owning these businesses.
Ventura is requesting a loan, which he will use to purchase germinating Irish potato seeds to plant. He believes that he will be able to earn additional income once he plants more Irish potatoes. His hope is that his family will benefit from a better standard of living once his business sales trajectory substantially goes up. He also anticipates the expansion of his business.
