Finagnon Mathias is 51 years old and married to a saleswoman named Celestine. The couple has fifteen children all of whom attend (or have attended) school, and live under their care. In addition to their own children, they care for two other children. Finagnon Mathias has not attended school himself. The couple shares responsibility for all household expenditures.
To provide for his needs and those of his family, Finagnon Mathias has been cultivating beans, peppers and tomatoes over the past forty years, which he then sells in the surrounding area. Alongside this activity, Dossa Mathias is also a fisherman. He resupplies in Cotonou.
In order to bolster his business and better serve his customers, Finagnon Mathias is requesting a fifth credit loan from ALIDé. His ambition is to increase the level of his business activity. The previous four loans granted him have all been fully reimbursed.

Dans le but de renforcer son activité et de mieux satisfaire sa clientèle, Finagnon Mathias sollicite un cinquième crédit auprès de ALIDé. Son ambition est d’accroître le niveau de son activité. Les quatre premiers crédits reçus antérieurement par Finagnon Mathias ont été bien remboursés.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
