Mrs. Meas is a 25-year-old woman and a mother of 2 small kids. She lives with her family in Kompong Speu province, Cambodia. She is always at home to take care of her children, while her husband works as a construction foreman, earning approximately 8 USD per day. The purpose of this loan is to purchase construction supplies for her husband. In the future, Meas’ husband wants to be the owner of construction project and to build a construction team by himself.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
