El Banco Comunal Mujeres Unidas De Los Bajos se reúnen cada 15 días en Los Bajos de Montecristi, ciudad conocida por su riqueza cultural y por su artesanía como por ejemplo los sombreros de paja toquillas conocidos dentro y fuera del país.

Aquí conocimos a la señora Mercedes, tiene 46 años y es madre soltera de un hijo, el mismo que ya es mayor de edad y aun vive con ella con su familia. Lleva dos ciclos en el Banco Comunal y le gusta por la oportunidad de recibir la ayuda que le brinda la institución.

Ella para ganarse el sustento diario se dedica a la venta de frutas y verduras. Trabaja todos los días desde las 05h00 hasta las 11h00, se desplaza desde la madrugada hasta el mercado mayorista a comprar los mejores productos para luego regresar a su localidad y recorrer este lugar y sitios cercanos en un triciclo ofreciendo sus productos, viene dedicada a esta actividad por más de cinco años y gracias a este negocio puede salir adelante.

Este crédito es para comprar frutas y legumbres. Está en el Banco Comunal desde el inicio y le gusta porque con los créditos puede financiarse sin tener que pagar altos intereses.

Su sueño es comprar un carro para ir a otros lugares a vender sus productos.
