Saumu is a 55-year-old married woman with six children, two of whom attend school. The rest of her children are grown. She owns a house with neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food for her family and school fees for her children.
Saumu has operated a coconut selling business for the past ten years; her potential clients are the local area residents. The major challenge she faces is transportation. She dreams of expanding her business.
With the loan of 50,000 KES she wants to purchase more coconuts for resale. She decided to join Yehu to access funds to boost her living standards.
