Nelly is a farmer from the village of Zemo Khvedureti in East Georgia. She is 43 years old and lives with her family: husband – Roin, 3 sons (23, 20 and 18 years old) and a daughter in law. One of Nelly’s sons serves in her country's military forces. All the rest of the members of the family are involved in the family agricultural business. In particular, they own 1.3 hectares of land, where onions and beans are grown. Nelly sells harvested vegetables locally in the village. The total average monthly income of the family is 1000 Laris.
Nelly has requested credit for the purchase of 300 kg of onion seeds. Quality seeds will be the prerequisite of a good harvest in spring. The family plans to save part of the received income, for purchasing a house in the village, as their existing one is too small for all family members.
