Victoria is widowed with four children. She is now 51 years old and lives in Camanga, Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur.
Victoria is a farmer and grows rice and other vegetable crops as a source of income. She has been doing this for 20 years. Victoria earned 9,000 Philippines pesos (PHP) from this activity. She has requested a loan of 49,000 PHP to purchase fertilizer and pesticide for her farming business.
Victoria has been a member of PMPC for four years and one month. in the future, Victoria hopes to expand her farming area.
About Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative
Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC) was founded in 1992 by the beneficiaries, parents and staff of the Paglaum Community Development Foundation to address economic and livelihood activities for sustainability. The organization operates in the northwestern provinces of Mindanao and Visayas.
In the local vernacular, “paglaum” means “hope.” The initial foundation is dedicated to child development through a holistic approach. The goal is to build self-reliance and expand opportunity so the poorest of the poor can help themselves.
