Mohamad is a 57-year-old man. He lives with his wife and two children, one of whom is working. He’s the only one responsible for his family and seeks to offer them a better future. He has operated his own vegetable shop since 1996 and has been working selling all kinds of vegetables for the past 15 years. He is expert in dealing with customers which makes them loyal.
Today, Mohamad needs to borrow $1000 from Kiva partner, Ameen s.a.l., to increase his inventory of vegetables. In that way he will enhance sales. In the future, he plans to diversify his variety of vegetables and also expand his products to include natural fruits.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
