Ali is a 24-year-old Lebanese single man living with his parents and three siblings. One of them is working in addition to his father who is the main income provider for the family and the one covering the heavier life expenses. Despite his young age, Ali started his own business in 2010. He has been working as a car mechanic for the past eight years and has gained a fair number of customers asking for his services.
Today, he’s looking to borrow $1000 from Kiva partner, Ameen s.a.l., to buy new mechanical tools for his business in order to respond rapidly to his clients’ problems. He believes that acting properly and honestly is really essential to build such a good and solid career. In the future, he plans to open his own car showroom.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
