Santos Vicenta
Santos is 34 years old, married, and has two children.

Santos has been weaving hammocks since she was very young. Her parents taught her to do this work. Every day, Santos makes hammocks and, in the afternoons, she sells bread and tamales to make income for her family.

Santos buys her materials for making hammocks, such as thread and straps, every two weeks in a village near her home which is one hour away. She makes the trip together with her younger son.

Santos is requesting this loan to invest in buying 1,000 tiles and 1,000 tusa canes for the roof and walls of her home. In this way, Santos will improve her home which she built through a lot of hard work making and selling hammocks. Not all of her home has a roof and the canes that she has are no longer any good. In the future, she would like to build a house from bricks. For this, she will save up the income that she makes from her hammock business.
