The Santa Gema community bank meets every 15 days in Junín (Portoviejo). This place is known for its friendly and hard-working people and because the best brandy of the province and of Ecuador is distilled in this place.

This is a group of 12 female members and two male members who decided to unite and form this community bank that has served them a lot since, with the loans, they have been able to improve their small business or start in the world of commerce. They are dedicated to diverse activities such as commerce, services, selling food, among other activities.

Georgina, 49, lives in this place. She is separated, but from that relationship she had four children. Three of them are adults and the youngest,16, studies in high school. Three of them still live with her.

She is a very good mother and housewife who, so her children do not lack anything, is dedicated to selling fruits and vegetables. Three days a week, she installs a small shop in the market in the area. There, on certain occasions, with the help of her children, she is dedicated to selling the same products that she buys from the same market at wholesale in the morning. She has more than 15 years with this business and this has helped her get ahead with her children.

This loan is to buy fruit and vegetables. This is her first cycle with the community bank and she hopes to continue for much more time.

Her dream is to have a grocery shop .

EL Banco Comunal Santa Gema se reúne cada quince días en el cantón Junín (Portoviejo), este lugar se lo conoce por su gente amable y trabajadora y porque en este lugar se destila el mejor aguardiente de la provincia y del Ecuador.

Este es un grupo de 12 socias y 2 socios que decidieron unirse y formar este Banco Comunal que les sirve de mucho ya que con los créditos, ellos pueden mejorar sus pequeños negocios que tienen o empezar en el mundo del comercio. Se dedican a diversas actividades tales como comercio, servicios, venta de comidas entre otras actividades.

En este lugar vive la señora Georgina, tiene 49 años, está separada pero de esa relación tienen cuatro hijos, tres de ellos mayores de edad y el menor de 16 años que estudia en colegio, tres de ellos aun vive con ella.

Ella es una muy buena madre y ama de casa que para que ha sus hijos no les falte nada se dedica a la venta de frutas y legumbres, tres días a la semana instala un pequeño local en el mercado de la localidad, allí en ciertas ocasiones con ayuda de sus hijos se dedica a vender estos productos los mismos que compra en el mismo mercado a mayoristas que entregan en la madrugada. Lleva más de 15 años con este negocio y esto le ha servido para salir adelante con sus hijos.

Este crédito es para comprar frutas y legumbres. Este es su primer ciclo en el Banco Comunal y espera seguir por mucho tiempo más.

Su sueño es tener una tienda de víveres.
