The Group, The 8th of December, is from the city Lambaré. It is composed of 17 women, all of them friends and neighbors of a humble neighborhood of that city. They make sacrifices and are very hardworking as they prefer to work from dawn until dusk in order to provide the best for their families instead of doing bad things that they would have to be ashamed of.
Emilda is one of these admirable women. She says that she sells milk for a living. Since she has been doing this for some time, she has a well formed clientele. She says that thanks to the good quality of her product, she is now known by everyone in the neighborhood. She wants to move forward and continue helping her family, the reason for her sacrifice.
She is requesting a loan to buy milk in bulk, with which she will be able to stock up in order to meet the demands of her clients. She is truly very thankful for this opportunity that the foundation and Kiva is giving her.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
