The women of Cerro Poty Committee are hard working people. They are very grateful to the foundation and to kiva for the opportunity of progress that they have given them. Currently it is made up of 15 women who work very happily in the program and want to get ahead and thus help their families.
The president, María Lourdes, lives with her husband and children. She sells sweets for a living, i.e. sweet pastries. She has her business in the downtown of the city of Caacupé. She comments that she has good sales and tells us that one of her goals is to continue growing so that in this way she can continue helping her husband to keep the house.
She is requesting a loan for the purchase of flour, sugar, sweets and additional ingredients which produce the sweets that she sells. She, together with her partners, constantly conduct activities and thereby promote integration among the partners and try to continue with their payments.

Las señoras del comité Cerro Poty, son personas muy trabajadoras, ellas están muy agradecidas con la fundación y con kiva por la oportunidad de progreso que les da. Actualmente está integrado por 15 mujeres, quienes trabajan muy a gusto dentro del programa, quieres salir adelante y de esa forma ayudar a sus familias.
La presidenta, la Sra. María Lourdes vive con su marido e hijos, ella se dedica a la venta de confites, es decir de masitas dulces, tiene su negocio en el centro de la cuidad de Caacupé. Comenta que tiene buena venta, y nos dice que una de sus metas es seguir creciendo para que de esa forma pueda seguir ayudando a su marido para mantener la casa.
Ella solicita el crédito para la compra de harina, azúcar, dulces y demás insumos con los cuales elabora los confites que vende. Ella junto con sus compañeras realizan constantes actividades y de ese modo fomentar la integración entre las compañeras y tratar de adelantar sus cuotas.

The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee.
