Amil is 38 years old, married and has two sons and one daughter. With the desire to live better, six years ago Amil started a grocery store, which is located nearby his home. Every month he earns 350 AZN. Now Amil needs financial help for his business and has applied for a 1400 AZN loan. He will use this money to purchase grocery items, mineral water and stocks. Amil believes that increasing his inventory will lead to a more successful business.
Aqroinvest Credit Union was founded by a group of 32 Imishli farmers in 2001, and has grown to become one of the largest credit unions in Azerbaijan. It boasts a portfolio of nearly $5 million and is wholly owned by its more than 3,500 borrowers, as of December 2011.
