Said is a married man with two children. One attends school while the other is still too young for school. He owns a house with neither electricity nor running water. His greatest monthly expense is food for his family.
Said has operated a retail shop for the past seven years. He also owns a grocery. His potential clients are his neighbors. His major challenge is customers not paying their debts on time. He dreams of establishing a wholesale shop.
With the Kshs 40,000 he wants to purchase more sugar, rice, maize flour and vegetables for resale. He decided to join Yehu because of their fair terms and conditions.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
