Saumu is a married woman with four school-going children. Her husband is a businessman who contributes to the provision of the family's basic needs. She owns a house with electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food for her family and school fees for her children.
Saumu has operated a posho mill (a maize-grinding machine) for the past three years. Her potential clients are her neighbors. She dreams of expanding her business.
With the KES 50,000 she wants to purchase more sacks of maize for her business. She decided to join Yehu because their quality services.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
