Melba is from Silanga, Tangub City. She is 40 years old. She is married and has four children.
To make a living, Melba is running a general store, selling a variety of food and home use products in the local community such as sardines, candies, cigarettes, shampoo, soaps, etc. She has been in her business for 8 years and earns about 15,000 PHP a month for these activities.

She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the loan to save as a reserve for future emergencies.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
