Ouheila is a 45-year-old Lebanese married woman living with her husband and seven children. Despite being a big family, they’re all united and financially cooperative.
Ouheila is a talented tailor. She has established a tailoring business at her domicile since 2000; and already worked for 20 years in this trade. In parallel, she sells food products from her home which she prepares herself.
Today, she’s requesting to borrow $1000 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase a new tailoring machine to increase her production and earn more income. In the future, she plans to open her own tailoring factory.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
