Tofiq, 54, is a dedicated farmer. He raises seasonal fruits and vegetables and sells them to local vendors. He's been in business for the last 10 years and his monthly income is 230 AZN.
He is married and has three children.
Selling crops is his family's only source of income, and he is trying to increase his profits. He applied for 1000 AZN loan to purchase seeds, fertilizers and garden tools.
Aqroinvest Credit Union was founded by a group of 32 Imishli farmers in 2001, and has grown to become one of the largest credit unions in Azerbaijan. It boasts a portfolio of nearly $5 million and is wholly owned by its more than 3,500 borrowers, as of December 2011.
