Deyanira Del Carmen
View original language description ↓
Deyanira S. is a woman who owns her own commercial space. She runs
a small general store out of this space, which is located in the city of
León, specifically in the community of El Sauce.

For the past 15 yeas she has worked in the general store. She opens the
doors very early every morning so that she will be able to serve her
customers and generate more income. Her income goes to providing for her
family and paying for her son’s schooling.

Deyanira is in need of investing in the infrastructure of her business
because there are other general stores close to hers and they sell the
same types of products, but their stores look better than hers does. The
situation is problematic because customers prefer to shop at the stores
that look better. Despite this problem, she does not lose hope and dreams
of making herself a great businessperson. For that reason, she has come
to Ceprodel to ask for a loan that will allow her to buy merchandise for
products and invest in buying construction materials that will improve the
conditions of her store.

Founded in 1991 and based in Managua, Nicaragua, CEPRODEL specializes in the development and funding of housing cooperatives for traditionally marginalized communities, the provision of microfinance services to small businesses, and the promotion of innovative renewable energy projects. In addition, unlike many microfinance institutions in the area that have chosen to avoid the rural areas of the country due to the increased financial risk, CEPRODEL provides financial services to numerous clients in the agriculture and livestock industry. Supporting a borrower through CEPRODEL means contributing to the promotion and sustainability of this important work in Nicaragua.
