Lucas is a 25-year-old man from Kisumu City, Western Kenya. He is married to Josephine, a housewife, and they have a four-month-old baby.
Lucas operates a stall from which he sells various home products – for example, torches, radios, CDs and many more items. He has been running this business for the last five years and he makes a monthly income of 30,000 KES.
Lucas joined Kiva partner KADET recently and has been awarded with a first loan, which he will use to buy CDs, torches, power extensions, and other items. He will use the profits to expand his business because he hopes to own a big shop selling home products at wholesale.
