Mary is 32 years old and is married to a vulcanizer named Nassirou. They have two children who both attend school and live under their care. Mary herself did not attend school. She lives together with her ​​husband and children.

For the past four years, Marie has been selling various products (soap, canned goods, pasta, and milk) as an itinerant vendor. She gets her supplies from one of the markets in Benin.

In order to strengthen their business and better serve their customers, Mary and the other Adjeniya group members are seeking a first credit loan from ALIDé.

Le groupe ADJENIYA est composé de trois membres qui résident dans le même quartier. La représentante de ce groupe du nom de Marie est celle qui a une main levée sur la photo. Dans le but de rehausser le niveau de leur activité afin de mieux faire face à la demande de leur clientèle, ce groupe sollicite pour une première fois, l'appui financier de ALIDé. Marie est âgée de 32 ans et est mariée à un vulgarisateur du nom de Nassirou. Le couple a deux enfants tous scolarisés et à leur charge. Marie n’a pas fréquenté l'école. Marie vit ensemble avec son mari et ses enfants. Depuis quatre ans, Marie vend des produits divers (savons, conserves, pâtes alimentaire, et du lait) de façon ambulante. Marie s'approvisionne dans l’un des marchés du Bénin. Dans le but de renforcer leur activité et de mieux satisfaire leur clientèle, Marie et les autres membres du groupe ADJENIYA sollicitent un premier crédit auprès de ALIDé.

About Alidé

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
